In 1482, before he painted the Mona Lisa, Leonardo da Vinci wrote his resume to get his next job. It was in the form of a letter that documented all of his strengths. This was the equivalent of what we call a resume.

 

I get asked all the time whether it’s OK to write one resume for all job applications. The answer is no, you should write it to reflect the job you are going after. And make sure to include ‘key words’ that are listed in the job description so it gets picked up quickly.
